Do I have a credit report?
You undoubtably have one, but its probably kind of skimpy. You should
get your 1 free/year/CRS just to see what it looks like.
The only other suggestion would be to get electronic bill pay from your
bank and use it for most of your bills. Its usually free and you save a
$.37 stamp (soon to be 39 or 40 cents) on each. And the electrons never
(well hardly ever) get lost or delayed in the mail.
If you have the disipline to use them properly, credit cards are handy.
Used for internet purchases and to reduce the need to carry lots of
cash, and then pay them off each month by electronic bill pay.
But if you are comfortable as you are, no real need for a credit card.
-Probably not, but it costs nothing for you to find out from an
authoritative source. Request your credit report and see what happens.
Everyone is legally allowed to request their credit report for free once
a year. Information on how to request
