Q. Will the uscis check credit report of the petitioner (US citizen) before they give the couples an interview? Did it happend to anyone?
A. I don't believe a credit check is done. I have read here that the US citizen is 'run' through the same databases that the 'alien' is, however. If the USC has an outstanding warrant I have no idea what, if anything, is done about it No, a credit check is not done for the immigration process. There are several types of security checks done, but no credit check. I dont think that they do. Even if they did dont worry about it. My US husband has submitted the last three years of W2's for the I864 as requested and always paid bills ontime, everything went ok despite his credit rating being on the V. Poor side due to problems over an unresolved debt his late mother left him, so dont worry about it. .
