Online continuing education
Has anyone tried online courses for continuing at
requirements? Have you found them helpful/enjoyable? What
did you like about them?

and of course, one of my favorite places to get info about "distance
learning" is the newsgroup - alt.education.distance
I am taking a distance course through Heritage Institute. Credit is awarded
through Antioch. The course takes time but is not too difficult. I have
several short papers left and I'll be finished. I have received a lot in the
way of content through materials. A video (several hours long) was not of
good quality as I couldn't see most of what they were trying to show but
since I had been given great materials, I was able to follow along with
them. I plan to take another course from them this summer. One thing I
noticed was the turn around time was rather slow for registering, then
ordering the materials, then receiving the materials to get started, maybe a
month. I guess this course is not exactly "on line." It's a video with email
communication with the instructor as needed. Be sure you choose a school
that has Regional Accreditation so the credits will be more readily
accepted.
