Online Courses/Degrees .
I am currently studying all over the place. I am taking community college
in Boston, but my father recently just got a job in California so I'm
moving very soon. I am applying for 4 year universities/colleges, but I
think I might miss out on the spring semester at a community college. Is
there a possibility of doing courses online to gain college credit?
I can't seem to find many colleges to do courses like
calculus/economics/computer science/etc.
-More and more CCs and JCs have started web and web-enhanced courses, and these
sometimes operate on more flexible calendars. You may not even have to live
too near, as only an initial organizational meeting may be required.
-You probably have until Valentine's day to start courses at some California
CCs, possibly a few days later. Most allow adds up to about three weeks in
the semester, at least in Southern California. Remember that it's a big
state, with 105 community colleges, so there's some variance. I could
provide more meaningful answers if you could specify which city you're
moving to, and perhaps what colleges are in your plans. Of course, missing
the first two weeks of the semester may provide you with a challenge.
E-mail the instructors early if you can, most will work with you.
-I signed up for Irvine Community College on-
line, did the application etc., and sent them my signature. They never
replied, and thats the last I have ever heard of them. It's my fault though
for not following up etc., but as soon as holidays are over I am going to
call them. I really would like to try out online courses though> Transport
has ALWAYS been a problem for me.
