Has anyone taken a telecourse? ( college) . !-- end title -->
I figured I'd have to take the summer off since there is NO WAY I can be on
campus 4 days/week for the 7 week run w/ the kids and all.
I just found out 1 of the courses I need runs via telecourse during the
summer sesson I.
I have never taken a telecourse..OR an online course.
Let me know your experiences.
BTW it would run me M-TH 1130 AM- 1230 AM.
Also...I take it you had to go to campus to take your exams, right? What
about correspondence w/ the professor in charge- was it there or
non-existant?
-here in NJ, you can take them and you submit everything via the net. If you
need help you can email the teacher, as well as, call him/her. The major
tests are taken at the campus. If you have a problem with time and such it
can be proctered (sp) and mailed in.
-I'm taking an online course right now & also took one last semester. No
problems. I reccommend online courses to anyone who reads well and doesn't
have any reading comprehension problems. One of he guys in my class last
semeter had a reading disorder and the class nearly killed him. I got an
"A", but I read extremely well. We had to write papers and create
presentations in Powerpoint, Word, Inspiration or anything else we could
think of. We also were assigned groups, with which we had to chat at a
specific time once a week. In that class, there were no tests, only
projects.
In the current class I'm in, we all have to meet in the chatroom at a
designated time once a week, which the teacher then reads & grades. We also
have a text with web activities, so we do those every week. We also anwers
questions from the prof. All of this gets posted in our discussions. Every
once in a while, we take tests on the web. They're timed, but that hasn't
been a problem. I'm getting a "B" in there.

communicating with the teacher was very easy.
my school has this lil virtual classroom type envioment that u can log
into and post messages, download notes, submi thoemwork. all that good
stuff.
