Christian Distance Education ?

Could you tell me what is a "humor mill" and the purpose
of Christian education? And what is Christian distance education?

Do you also go to a Christian physician, a Christian dentist, a Christian
fast-food store. What was that passage about...going into the World???

Trusting Jesus Christ in what way? Following the God of the Bible? What do you
mean? I guess I should assume that you are refering to both the Old Testament
and the New Testament but God is portrayed somewhat differently by the
different recorders.
Why is a protestant viewpoint at the center of all discussions? Is there no
room for Catholics?

I would assume education in Christian theology, or education in just about
any other area, informed by Christian doctrine.

In fairness, religious education is nothing new. Where the exclusivity
of the mailing list is more surprising is in its membership requirements.
If someone can not honestly meet the stated personal requirements, but
is still interested enough in Christian DE to want to take part in the
discussions the list promises, why shouldn't they be welcomed kindly?
Do churches, by corollary, employ bouncers to keep out curious outsiders?

There is much duplication of efforts on the Internet in a
multitude of areas, including Christian distance education. In that
light, there is already a superb resource for persons looking to study
in a Christian context: The Christian Distance Learning Directory, at
http://training.loyola.edu/cdld - it's run by Jason Baker, a computer
consultant for Loyola College and a contributing columnist for
Christian Computing magazine. I endorse the CDLD highly enough to have
granted them the exclusive right to publish the on-line edution of my
book "Name It & Frame It." And I do not endorse CDLD because they
published NIFI (for which I receive no compensation), but because the
CDLD demonstrated its integrity prior to me granting them the right to
publish the book. If Michael Allen Gates thinks he can do it better,
more power to him. But at this point, he hasn't proven that he has the
professional competence to moderate such a forum at all and, since a
moderator has the ability to influence board content and people's
decisions regarding their educational future, he is certainly open to
critique on this newsgroup - especially if he's actually considering
AJU or Summit as a personal option.
