Celtic Knot Jewelry
My Lady and I request some aid in a task we have set ourselves. We
are planning a mideaval wedding and are looking for some information.
1. We are having our rings made for us from white gold and we are
looking for the right pattern for the rings. We want to find an
authentic period celtic pattern indicting our Love for one another.
Someone suggested a pattern called "Clannad knot". Not being familiar
with celtic patterns myself, I have never heard of this and am
interested in what it is (my interest is in mongol history so I freely
admit to being somewhat 'Celtically challenged' ). Any information would
be greqatly appreciated.
2. We were thinking about getting married at an event (Summer 2000) and
wanted to know if there were any specific rules forbidding this before I
approach the local Baron and Baroness.
3. Any related info on Mideaval weddings and more specifically, Celtic
Mideaval weddings (late period ~1500). I have already gone through the
`Florilegium' (by the way, if you haven't looked at his site, you are
missing a vast wealth of information) and pulled the pertinent articles.
Any other information would be appreciated. We have about 18 months to
plan and pay for the wedding, but we want something special and the more
info we have the better.
You can also get a Catalog of Scottish Celtic knotwork rings if you write

VERY beautiful Scottish Celtic rings in this catalog. I reccommend for
anybody interested in this kind of jewelry!
Try www.tradeshop.com. They do lovely Celtic knot rings, are reasonably
priced, and the workmanship is excellent. My Lady and I are having matching
wedding rings made for our upcoming wedding. I had her engagement ring
made by these folks. They offer a variety of knots, but are very amenable
to taking custom designs. We haven't chosen a knot yet ourselves, but when
we do, whether it's one of their designs or ours, we're confident that the
rings will be perfect. And no, I don't work for them nor do I have any
affiliation with them whatsoever.
They have a section of their (very extensive) web site set up for referrals
from their customers, complete with pictures of finished rings and rings in
progress. My Lady's engagement ring can be seen in the customer referral
section.
