Running causes acid reflux?
When I go running or jump rope, I get acid reflux very badly. My doctor has told me that I have GERD and I follow the guidelines of what to eat and I'm fine mostly, but I still get the acid when I run or do anything "bouncy" like intense step aerobics.
I love to work out, and my doctor says to take tums before I work out or bike or do something different which sometimes helps.
This is fine, but I plan to run anyway. I really need to vary my workouts or I "slip".
Does anyone have any suggestions beyond tums that have helped them with this?
Do not eat for at least 2 hrs before exercising.
I have gerd too and situps makes me get acid reflux, try mylanta it helped me but to tell you the truth if the acid reflux hurts really bad after you run just stop doing it unless its worth it
Mylanta works really well, i used to get refluxs as a young child, i did eventually grow out of it but. Maybe you should try a different type of work out eg-swimming
My Husband had a scope done.Have you had one done? You should it will tell you all kind of things you need to Know! I hope you are avoiding these things.
