oily skin
I have a big problem with oily skin... I have olive skin and day in and day
out, it's oily... whether I wear makeup or not. It doesn't matter if I wash my
face every half hour or only once a day and if I use strong soap or not...
either way, it's still oily. I've been to the doctor a few years back because
it got so bad it gave me pitaryasis rosea. It has now become bad again and
nothing I do seems to work. I've tried Clinique's three step program (extra
strong facial bar, Clinique's clarifying lotion #4 and oil free moisturizer),
noxema, bath and body works facial care products, Biore, etc. Nothing seems to
help. Any suggestions?
-Aside from the obvious (maybe you're overworking
yr skin with too many products), I'd suggest birthcontrol
pills. I've been on Da Pill for a while now, and I switched
to one that's especially for clearing up oily skin. (A
knockoff of the ones in the magazine ads.) Now my skin's drier
than it used to be, and I get the occasional crop of whiteheads
around period time, but otherwise, I'm good. And it's not as
harsh as Retin A or the other acne drugs... but then again, I
didn't really have acne, just oily skin. Whatever works!
-I have the same type of skin, and reassure myself that at least it
means less wrinkles later on in life
I've had pretty good results with L'Oreal Plenitude Shine Control
stuff - face wash, toner and moisturiser (well, I actually use a
Superdrug knockoff moisturiser as it was a hell of a lot cheaper, but
that would be UK only)
I find that it keeps my skin under control for about 4/5 hours, and
then I start using those blotting papers if and when I feel the need.
