ot:call centre software
I have left this a bit late to ask , but a friend is going for a job on a
helpline for someone like currys or comet and she wondered if anyone knew
what sort of software these people use. Is it something freely available (or
even not freely !) or is it specialist software that you don`t come across
in the world outside these call centres?
Any advice tonight to help her along is appreciated ..
A lot of Companies use their own software built around common database
software (eg Access, SQL etc.) or use software packages that are tailor
modified for their use. At the end of the day I'd be very surprised if
the employer would expect anyone to know the software already and even
less likely to ask a question about it. If I was interviewing a Customer
Support Person (and I do) the call centre software would be the last
thing I'd question the candidate about. I'm more interested in previous
telephone and technical experience. Most importantly I'm looking for
good communicators. If someone has that natural ability and a little
basic technical knowledge almost everything else can be easily taught.
If she's a looker it'd definitely help too ;) Where else can Techies
meet pretty girls?
