Bracelet Leather Man Jewelry
I scored a Mary Quant black stretch skirt at Bendel's during
the summer , then a pair of ivory 'n black patent slingbacks
with squared-off toe and chunky heel (very mod, to my eye) at a thrift shop.
Finally, I matched up a 3/4-sleeve horizontal white/black striped sweater at
Arden B. However, I am having amazing and surprising difficulty finding
appropriate jewelry. Silver is wrong, obviously, as are marcasite, onyx, etc.
I need MOD JEWELRY! I saw a watch with a wide white patent leather band and I'll
probably get that but I cannot find the right earrings or bracelet.
what do y'all recommend? Anybody come across anything black and/or white with clean lines,
probably rounded and shiny and plastic-y?
you might try spending an hour or so perusing "Mod" in the
vintage jewelry section on ebay. I think you would get some ideas there.
After that, it might be worthwhile to stop in at one of the really cheap
accessory stores in the mall. And a good sewing store might be a source if
you decide to go with long strands of beads, which, iirc, were de rigeur for
those mod outfits in the 60s. Also, bakelite or inexpensive plastic bangle
bracelets that pick up the ivory, black and white of your outfit...
