For those of you who are contemplating buying a Yamaha Waverunner, I
want you to read this letter very carefully. This is what will happen
to YOU if the boat is a lemon, the lies about performance are never
met or Yamaha Motors tells you they don't have some replacement part
for the Waverunner and can't repair your boat, properly. I'd hope
NONE, not one, of you, ever have to go through the hateful 18 months
and be treated as I was treated. Because the company is above the
laws of the land, you may lose your house or car or anything they
think they can steal. Luckily I don't have much. I don't really own
anything of much value worth their while.
PLEASE heed my warning about Yamaha Motors and its sales practices.
You might end up in this trap. I will not respond to posts from the
Yamaha dealers, company hacks and Yamaha "lovers" on this newsgroup.
I'm merely pointing out the termination of 18 months of ownership and
trying to get my money back for a poorly designed, poorly performing
product with a lack of parts.
Just CAN"T snip....Larry, hope this will be the end for you, afraid
it will be yet another sad, long beginning. When I bailed out on my
GP, i took a pretty good hit, but got out before EVERYONE was in on
the little secrets at Yamaha.
As a direct result, as you know, I left the sport and Yamaha after
having been a lifetime customer. I bought a 98 Harley Davidson and
spent $15,000.00 over the Yamaha Royal Star. In the process have
discovered it to be the best of over 40 bikes owned to date, and I
will NEVER lose a dime, EVER. A most unbelievable lesson learned by
me. Also found it to be the most reliable, SMOOTHEST bike I have
owned (rubber mounted) ..... But that just opens up a debate that
goes on forever.t. I will absolutely buy a Seadoo next time IF I ever
re join the sport. I will probably find it as I did the Harley, and
find my fears about "reliability" as bad a superstition as my last
little lesson. I will never be close minded again, or afraid of
trying what I want instead of feeling "comfortable" with a sales
pitch.
Larry, I hope people really realize there are those of us who are
NOT just suffering "sour grapes", but that there are some of us that
are NOT rich yuppies who can afford any "toy", so we actually put our
faith in a company and it's ads and "reputation". Sometimes, we even
risk our financial and emotional "solvency". I did. I made a mistake.
I hope you prevail, but doubt you will, expect they will legally chop
you up. I REALLY hope not. I wish you the best, hope for the best,
but expect the absolute worst. My hope and prayers are with ya. Let
me know if I can help in any way, anytime.
