Use Benzoyl Peroxide with Salicylic Acid
I have just found the obviousness of the truth. Use Benzoyl Peroxide and
Salicylic Acid together. Many people, including myself, found this to be a
irritating treatment for 2 reasons. The first reason is that it is very hard
to use these two ingredients together without getting over dried skin. The
second reason is that it is very hard to find the right benzoyl peroxide
product and the right salicylic acid product to use together. Let me explain.

First, using these two active ingredients together causes overdrying because
they are designed to dry up acne blemishes by penetrating pores, exfoliating
skin, and killing the acne bacteria. Therefore these products will cause some
drying. Second, I had the most difficult time finding the right products to
use. The reason the right product is difficult to find is because many of them
contain an alcohol to further promote drying.
The obviousness of the truth:
Do not over use these active ingredients. Use a oil free moisturizer for
combination skin or acne prone skin. Don't use products with alcohol in them.
The best regimen for acne:
Because I broke down this information I have finally found the best acne
treatment for me. Try this acne treatment for yourself.
Morning:
Wash your face with the salicylic acid product called "Neutrogena Oil Free Acne
Wash". Then apply a non greasy and oil free lotion for acne prone skin that
keeps pores clog free called "Neutrogena Combination Skin Moisture". Do not
add benzoyl peroxide in the morning unless you know you can tolerate it twice a
day!!!!!!
Night Time:
Wash again with "Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash". Then apply oil free
"Neutrogena Combination Skin Moisture" as done in the morning. Let the lotion
absorb into your skin. Then apply "Oxy Balance 10% Benzoyl Peroxide Lotion"
all over your face. The citric acid in the Oxy Lotion improves the appearance
of acne prone skin and the oil free moisturizer keeps you from over drying.
Try this treatment for two weeks and let me know the results. It should make
old acne bumps come out of your skin by flaking off. Then the treatment
prevents new acne from coming. It works wonders for my skin.
-I use both, work wonderfully for me. 2.5% BP at night, .5% SA Alcohol
Pad in the morning, no moisturizer, no dryness.
I have moderate acne, and my face is pretty clear now.
-I've been using Clearasil's Benzoyle Peroxide 10%, that would be effective
as Oxy's, right? I also use the Clearasil face wash and follow up with
Neutrogena's Clear Pore 2% Salicylic Acid treatment. These will yield the
same results, right? I've been using this for about three months and it has
removed most pimples off my cheek and removed those pesky blackheads on my
nose. But one thing?...You moisturize BEFORE you put on the Benzoyle
Peroxide? I was always under the impression that you put it on after...since
that what it said on Clearasil's instructions. And I can tolerate even three
application of Benzoyle Peroxide per day without over-drying...is
moisturization necessary then?...
