Credit card for new immigrants including Secured Credit Card?
Hello, I would like to know which credit card is the easiest for new
immigrants to apply and start building credit? i heard of MBNA and
President's choice MC , any suggestions? thanks in advance.
Bad luck,,... today I went to TD to open a second checking acc, my first one
was open in quebec, then when I requested my credit card the lady told me
that becase I'm not a permanent resident yet I won't be able to qualify for
this card, she told me that my only option was to get a "secured" card with
a minumun deposit of $1000.. crazy!!
Then I went home and called TD again and spoke to a customer service
representative and he told me that because I've lived in Ontario only for
for 11 months I cannot qualify either, so I told this person.. then use my
quebec TD acc, that acc has more than a year record... and he told me...
that quebec has a different lending and banking system and they won't
forward my acc records as a credit reference,,, incredible!!! we're in
Canada and quebec is Canada I told the guy, it sucks and I'm screwed due to
stupid interprovincial laws.... I will try to call another bank or wait 1
month until I complete 1 year living in Ontario...... :(
Again it sucks Canadian banks won't offer U.S style debit cards, I just need
a card with a VIsa or MC logo, it could be a regular credit card or a U.S
style debit card...
