Don't try this at home!

I read somewhere that isotretinon, which is a vitamin A derivative kind
of like Retin-A, was being used by some physicians on herpes with good
results. Well, I couldn't find anything on it, not on the web (except
for use in acne treatment) nor through any hotlines. However, I happened
to have had an RX for Differen - which is also a Vitamin A based acne
treatment. I said "What the hell" one night and put some on an ulcer
that was being resistant and it was basically gone the next day. I AM
NOT RECOMMENDING THIS! I AM NOT A DOCTOR! AND DIFFEREN IS BY
PRESCRIPTION ONLY!
Is that enough disclaimer? However, I did think the connection
warranted looking further into this - not to mention that Vitamin A has
been recommended all along for application to the infected area. Has
anyone else heard anything of treatment with vitamin A type drugs?
believe it or not my friend in atlanta swears by making a paste of crushed
up vit a with vit c and uses hydrogen peroxide to make into a paste and
applies it as soon as she has an ob. i figured what did i have to lose
so......ive tried it and im telling you.....it did work for me.my ob
disappeared within 2 days.....an easy concoction to make....its something to
ponder on. so i do agree about the vit a theory.
