Acne medication & Anti-Aging Cream?
I've just been prescribed two topical creams by a dermatologist for my
mild/moderate acne - Cleocin T and Differin. Previously I've been using DDF
and Murad acne treatment creams.
First Question: Can I use anti-aging cream with this combination -- collagen
building to prevent wrinkles? Any problem with using both?
Second question: Regarding other creams, is it possible for me to continue
to use my DDF Acne Cleanser and DDF oil-free moisturizer? Will they work
together, or would there be some kind of negative reaction?
If you use a cream and it has a moderate to high quantity of
occlusive emollients (petrolatum, mineral oil, dimethicone, etc.)
it could create a barrier effect that might lessen penetration of
your subsequently applied actives.
If you use a glycolic or salicylic-based astringent or gel it
should not create a barrier and will help your subsequently
applied topicals to penetrate better. This might also increase
irritation.
It depends on the ingredients. Could you post them or provide
links to the full ingredients lists?
