Pale Skin
I was wondering what I can do to get my skin as pale as pale as possible.
Are there skin lighteners out on the market or do I just have to stay out of
the sun? I'm already doing that but I'd love to have really white skin. I
know that during the Elizabethan Era women took Arsenic to have alabaster
skin but the idea of ingesting a heavy metal such as arsenic is not the most
promising prospect.
-There are skin lighteners but they are not very good for you and I have never
heard of a modern, healthy equivalnt of aresenic ingestion. The one thing I
would suggest that doen't really give you palers skin but gives a slightly
paler glow to the skin is to use a laverder color correcter all over the face,
very lightly. Agnes B makes one that is very sheer and applies nicly and adds
a very pretty luminousity to the skin. This is very difficult to describe but
you might want to try it. Another idea is that right now MAC has a Hyperreal
foundation in Violet FX which is a white foundation with violet inrridesence.
It applies very sheerly so all that really shows up is the viiolet when the
light hits it the right way.
They both look great if you have light skin.
-Personally I wouldn't reccommend using Halloween make-up (unless you are
going for a dead Harlequin/Mime or OTT China-doll look) for three main
reasons:
1) It clogs the pores - they don't call it greace-paint for nothing and
isn't very skin friendly on a daily basis.
2) You'll have a hell of a bad time trying to blend it, and can go patchy
with wear (i.e. sweating from dancing in a club)
3) It's too un-natural and harsh to create the illusion of truely pale skin.
The easiest way to make your skin look pale (and keep it that way) is to use
suntan lotion before venturing out, and to use a foundation a couple of
shades (at most) lighter than your natural skin tone and blend, blend,
blend.
I have to agree with Rob in saying that people can look rather silly when
they *only* cover their faces in pale make-up and neglect to cover ears,
neck and any exposed areas of flesh at the same time. So please bare this in
mind
All the other make-up suggestions were a-okay but I just had to bring up
this point again....
