Frugal Adult Acne Treatment

Here is one I'm proud of! I asked for Proactiv Solution for Christmas,
and it is very pricey ($40.00 for a six week supply). I got my first
shipment, and started using it with decent results, but had a change of
heart about the expense. So, I came up with my own formula that costs
half as much, to initially make ($20.00), and works better, and lasts
much longer-so it's really less than half as expensive. All the
products are available at your normal retail stores:

Take 1 generic 1 oz. tube of benzoyl peroxide cream (10%), and mix it
with the contents of 1 4oz. Tube of Clean&Clear Oil Free Moisturizer.
To mix, I squirt both into a ziploc baggie, seal, mix, and snip the
corner and squirt into an emply 5 oz. bottle the a squirt top. This is
your moisurizing/acne prevention cream. Use a very small amount for your
face.

Take 1 bottle of Clean&Clear Benzoil Peroxide Face Wash, and mix with 1
bottle of Clean&Clear Oil Free Face wash with microscrubbers. Do the
ziploc baggie thing, and you will need an 8 oz. bottle for this stuff.
This is your face wash.

Get some alcohol free toner, I use L'Oreal, but if you find something
cheaper that might work. Witch Hazel might work as well. This is your
deep pore cleanser and hydrater.

First wash your face with the face wash, follow up with toner, follow up
with moisurizing acne prevention cream.

I did this twice a day, and in three weeks, my skin was clear. I've
washed my face this way twice a day for several months, and only get the
very occasional, very small pimple now. Now I am experimenting with
once a day, and so far the results are still excellent. I finally have
"no makeup skin" and love it!

You have to keep using it, because acne forms when dead skin cells clog
the pores and trap bacteria. (This is the reason why I mix the cleanser
with microscubbers with the bp cleaneser-to get the benefits of
both..) According to the proactiv makers, acne is genetic, so it's
nothing to be ashamed of, but it can be treated. I had a forehead full
of pimples, and some big, really deep ones on my cheeks and chin,
pretty much all the time. I'm 31 years old, and very happy with my
skin, now.
