What do you use to clear up acne on your face?
I am looking a good ance killer and I would like to know what do you use
to kill ance on your face?
-no one here worth his/her beauty-savvy status would ever tell you to just
wash and it'll go away. Acne is a complicated condition involving
bacteria, sensitivity to that bacteria, the functioning of the skin's
pores and glands, and hormones. Certainly, keeping the skin clean is a
necessary first step, but it will by no means eliminate acne at all.
So, now what? well, assuming that you *are* keeping you skin clean (but
don't be over-zealous - it'll just make it worse!), I would suggest your
browsing the isle at your local drugstore that is dedicated to acne
treatment products. If you are young, and your acne has never been
treated, something containing Benzoyl peroxide, between 3-10%, may help.
In any case, that would be a good place to start. Just be sure to use a
sunscreen (oil free and non-comedogenic: read the back of the bottle!)
during the day if you are using these products, as they'll make you more
likely to damage your skin through sunlight.
If you try that for about a month and see no improvements, if you have
access to a doctor (either your physician or - even better - a
dermatologist) might help. Most health insurance does cover for the
treatment of teenage acne, and your derm. will have the best arsenal out
there for its treatment.
-Neutrogena has a line of acne creams and medicines that both my husband and I
use religously. Acne definitly doesn't stop after the teen years. Also, just a
suggestion but make sure not to use a "deoderant soap" on your face.
