acne scars
I'm currently taking accutane with five weeks to go. I am very pleased with
the results, within 6 weeks my skin was pretty much clear, however I have
some scarring. The scars are pretty shallow they can only be noticed in
certain lighting, but they bother me a great deal. I am looking for any
information on improving my skin without surgery as I would have to wait at
least a year after taking accutane. I've read about glycolic acids, AHA, and
retin-A micro and am wondering if anyone has seen improvements with any of
these products? Any information would be greatly appreciated
-What precentage of glycolic acid do you use and what brand? I am currently
using a 10% Glycolic acid made by Alpha Hydrox.
-i'm using 15% glycolic gel i get from acne treatment center on the net. keep
in mind this is for my back not face so the % might be different for face.
-In my experience, glycolic acid has helped me. However, I didn't find the 10%
cream available in the drugstore made any noticeable change. My sister found an
acquaintance who was going to her doctor for 20% peels. Sheila hadn't seen her
in about 3 months and the difference was immediately noticeable to Sheila. In
Canada, the strongest glycolic acid cream you get without prescription is 15%.
However, in the States the strongest you can get is 30%.
So anyway, what I've been doing is buying the 20% glycolic oil free gel from
Doctor's Skin Care products (http://www.icanect.net/doctors/index.htm). I've
been happy with the service and the price of the products.
