a really excellent acne clinic in Upstate NY
I've found that my former pediatrician is now running acne clinics in four
southern New York State locations (Johnson City, Cortland, Norwich, and Ithaca
- each on a different day of the week). Over the years he's had so many of his
young patients come to him with acne problems that gradually he began to
specialize in acne. I was his patient when I was a baby... and now that I'm 31
& have moved back into town, I'm seeing him again for my current acne problems.
He is an absolutely wonderful, caring doctor who really understands that having
acne is extremely hard to deal with & is willing to work with the patient to
find a medication/health routine that is best. After twenty years of just
having different doctors prescribe Retin-A (which wasn't helping!) for my
moderate-plus acne, and saying there wasn't anything else to try besides
Accutane (which they said my case wasn't severe enough for) it's like a miracle
to finally have a doctor who seems to want to solve my problem as much as I do!
My first course of treatment began two months ago with Cleocin-T 1% plus
Differin Gel 0.1% in the morning, and Brevoxyl-4% plus Differin 0.1% at night
before bed, for treatment of painful subcutaneous cysts as well as surface
eruptions all along my cheeks, mouth, chin and jawline. This has been a very
stubborn condition for me since I was 11. This first course of treatment he
prescribed helped immensely, improving the overall texture of my skin &
reducing my blemishes/cysts by about 50% (which is a miracle in itself!!) I've
just been back to see him & he noticed the improvement... but assured me that
with patience and the right combination of medicines, we could get rid of ALL
of the acne. It's so refreshing to hear a doctor tell me this!!! Now I'm to
stick with my previous med schedule, but apply the Differin a third time as
well, in the afternoon. Thanks to this doctor, I'm actually feeling optimistic
about my complexion for the very first time in TWENTY YEARS!!!

If this course of treatment does not work or the acne becomes resistant to
these medications go for the Accutane. If you have moderate plus acne you can
get a doctor to prescribe it to you if you look hard enough and throuigh a
couple of courses you may get it very dimished- only for good! So far I'm not
impressed by your doctor.
