Clean & Clear Continuous Control Acne Cleanser
Instead of cleansing with mineral oil, and then washing it off with a
separate cleanser, how about a cleanser containing mineral oil?
I found this cleanser. The 3rd ingredient is mineral oil, so it should
clean like the mineral oil does. None of the ingredients appear on the
various comedogenic tables floating around the web as bad. It contains 10%
benzoyl peroxide, so it may turn out to be way drying, but maybe if I follow
it with the Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer, I won't have a problem.
I also learned that acne does not become resistant to BP, like it can to
many prescription antibacterials.
My only question is how long the BP has to be on the skin for it to kill the
bacteria? I know it takes Triclosan around 3 minutes before it starts
killing bacteria, so it's useless in a cleanser.
Anyway, I'm going to try it out tonight. Saves one step on my routine.
I know how that is. I said I wasn't buying anything new, but I bought
blue super relief gel. Granted, it was $3 instead of $20, but so much
for using other stuff up. But I really wanted to try this, although it's
not geared specifically towards breakouts. (In one day it seemed to
shrink up a breakout, so far so good.)
I have some of these (an aveeno baby cleanser I use on my face sometimes
with mineral oil and safe ingredients). They are gentle, but don't seem
to wash off completely. The film can cause breakouts if I work out.
YMMV, of course.
Have you tried the DIY Proactiv recipe?
I swear by it, it's keeps me clear. I just want to find something that
doesn't use BP, otherwise it's the best combination of products that
I've found. Sounds like you are already using some of it..
I will post an article about how long for the BP on a new thread. Not a
specific answer, but might be helpful. Too bad that line of products
(vivant) is a fortune)
