Product Skin
does anyone have any recommendations (cleanser, toner, moisturiser,
etc.) for getting rid of those annoying little bumps on my forehead.
They're sort of pimples, but they cannot be squeezed. My skin is
otherwise quite clear, oilier in the t-zone and drier on the cheeks.
Facials don' help really either.
-Another thing to do is make sure you are not getting hairspray on your
forehead. When you spray your hair, use something to block the spray from
hitting your skin. I just recently learned about the possible connection
between hairspray and acne. Since I stoped getting overspray on my skin, my
face is much clearer.
You may also want to try some benzoyl peroxide on your forehead as well as
the Neutrogena Multi-Vitamin Acne Treatment that Alex recommended. The
Johnson & Johnson "Clean and Clear" line has a new product called Persa-Gel.
It is benzoyl peroxide in a gel formulation, it comes in 5 and 10%. I
found out about it on the alt.skincare.acne newsgroup and I think it works
much better than the old white benzoyl peroxide that I had been using.
Benzoyl peroxide can really overdry your skin, so be careful at first until
you have figured out how your skin reacts. Twice a day I apply 5% BP over
freshly washed and dried skin, I follow with the multi-vitamin treatment,
then I add a moisturizer over the top. Your skin will become more sensative
to the sun with these products, so it is also a good idea to use a
moisturizer that contains sunscreen in the morning.
-After a *year* of dealing with the same thing and trying *everything*, this is
the only regimen that's worked for me:
Derma Klear Cleanser (by Enzymatic Therapy)
Derma Clear Akne Cream (by Enzymatic Therapy)
Derma Clear Akne Zyme supplement (by Enzymatic Therapy)
Hepar Sulfur tablets (2 tablets 6x to start, decreasing as skin improves)
All of that should be at your local health food store. Until Aug. of last
year, I had great skin. Then, out of the blue, it went crazy! Now, it's
cleared up. I also try to avoid Iodine in my diet which can aggrevate skin.
By the way, the Enzymatic Therapy stuff comes with a 100% satisfaction-
guaranteed, money-back guarantee (http://www.enzy.com). That's the only thing
that got me to try it.
