Facials and acne
has anyone found any positive or negative
effects of getting facials when they have acne? I don't believe that facials
will "cure" acne, but I'm not sure what other people think about this.
Another reason is that the cost of getting a facial these days would
certainly make one question whether or not it was actually doing any good.
I agree with you in that facials do not "cure" acne/blemish problems.
However, I have found that by getting specific facials, my blemishes are
less frequent. facials are great for purifying the skin and just all in
all good basic skin care. On the other hand, I have had excellent
outcomes by having Glycolic Acid treatments. (it's like a peel) My
aestatition had me prepare for the 3 treatments by applying a lower
percentage of glycolic on my face. After a month and a half I had my
treatments. I found that the glycolic reduced my blemishes. Also, a
major positive, is that my face a WAY less oily. my pores are almost
invisible, and my face is much softer. If you do try this method, don't
be alarmed if you break out the first 1-2 weeks. It draws out the
impurities.
If you do get facials, get the ones best suited for your skin type. I
have oily/sensitive skin. In combination with facials or glycolic
treatments, I also use the proper face products. Just in case you are
interested, I use the line of Guinot. It is a little on the more
expensive side, but a little goes a long, and I mean a long, way. And if
you have problem spots, I use a blemish stick from Gatineau called
S.O.S. Stick- it's in a glass container with a ball at the tip.
By drinking your 8 glasses of water a day, will alos help. Oh, and
don;t forget to exercise. I wish there was an immediate cure, but there
isn't. I have tried perscriptions and they only made my face worse. If
you do go for facials, try to get deep cleansing ones that clean out the
pores. I get the ones called a Hydrodermie from Guinot. I have had
only good results from these products. Everyone has a different skin
type, so talk to the aestitian and see what she has to say.
