Questions about acne rosacea

I'm a lurker who has finally decided to come forward because my doctor
just diagnosed me with acne rosacea. I was wondering if anyone else has
this, and what you've used in terms of foundations/skin care that you are
happy with. Right now I use Neutrogena Anti-Acne face wash, the
prescription cream, and Almay Clear Complexion foundation...I'm still having
breakouts, and I was wondering if there was something better out there for
my skin, like the Polus line I've read so much about...
- I think it's generally just called 'rosacea' nowadays, because it
apparently is not related to acne. Anyway, here are some websites
that should be helpful:

-At one point I was diagnosed with acne rosacea also. I believe the rosacea
but am not sure about the acne. I had a lot of trouble with my skin because
of stress with my mother dying and menopause hormones. I didn't do well
with Neutrogena or Almay products - they were far too harsh and burning. I
still have rosacea but it is pretty much under control and that is because
of Rx Metrocream which is the main product for Rosacea. I think Metrogel is
for use if you have oily skin. Using the Galderma metrogel, cream, lotion
products were for me really necessary to control and minimize the redness.
At that time the dermatologist I saw insisted I use only Galderma products -
basically Cetaphil & Candermyl cream and no makeup until things were stable.
He said that way if problems continued he could contact one pharmaceutical
house and get answers. What I did learn is
to be very cautious - to use one product at a time and make sure it is not
an irritant. I learned that I really can't use AHAs, BHAs or any salicylic
acid (includes our aspirin mask and the new Almay foundation). You need to
treat your skin very gently and use as little product as possible. Another
product that has been very helpful is the "Gentle Cleanse" bars from
skinbio.com. Now I am under control, can use some foundations (often
sunscreen in foundation seems to be an irritant) and have cautiously started
using the newest Pola group Vitax. Vitax is wonderful and even smoothing (I
meant smoothing) but again I need to be very gentle and use tiny amounts.
These things have worked for me but YMMV
