Accpac China Crm information
My company has been using Pervasive 7 as the corporate database, and AccPac Crm
for Windows 4.1 as the financial apps. As the web guy, I've been able to
connect data to our website using the Pervasive 7 ODBC drivers.
Everything's been working great for a few months until a few days ago when
an error message pops up on the Pervasive server "NTDBSMGR.EXE access
violation (0x0000005)" or something like that. It bombs the entire
Pervasive db, thus rendering the AccPac financial apps unusable, as well as
the web queries.
I have to reboot the machine on which Pervasive is loaded just to get it
back and running with AccPac Crm. I notice that if I should run a SQL query
through the ODBC drivers through any kind of front end host program, I'll
get the NTDBSMGR.EXE error again and bomb the whole system.
But if I don't use the ODBC drivers, Pervasive and AccPac Crm run just fine, but
the inability to use the ODBC drivers disable the use of my web queries,
which is not good. How can I get the ODBC drivers working again with the
web and AccPac Crm?
I am very interested in your queries and your database, because I have a
customer in China with a similar problem. Of course, I know of hundreds of
sites without this problem, so it MUST be specific to one or more queries.
A few things:
1) Which version of PSQL7 are you running? If not yet SP5, please try patching
it to SP5.
2) Are you interested to try post-SP5 fixes? Not fully regression-tested by
Pervasive, but it may help. (I have a guy rolling these out in China as I
type...)
3) Can you easily isolate a single request which fails? If so, can I get your
query, DDF's, and related data files? I know this asks a lot, but the China
issue is not yet nailed down, and I'd love to have a solution for them quickly,
while my guy is still there.
