2000 in review - skin care

With just over a week left in the year, I'm starting this thread and will
make separate categories for skin care, foundation, clothes, foot wear,
accessories, color cosmetics - feel free to add any others. For myself I'm
actually reviewing (even on deja.com) what I've bought, used and what worked
and didn't. Interesting to see how we are changing
-L'Oreal Revitalift Face & Neck cream: I had been using EL Resilience to firm up
my double chin. I find that L'Oreal tightens the skin more and, obviously, is
much less expensive. However, I just noticed that the jar doesn't state an SPF
and I've tossed the packaging, so I've gotta assume there is no sunscreen in
this.

Reviva Labs 10% glycolic acid cream: I've been using this on my chin and
forehead to keep milia and blackheads away (5% cream just doesn't do the trick
here). It works well and smells great. Do not apply this around the eyes. I
tried this on the fine lines under my eyes and achieved a small burn under the
eye.

Burt's Bees Coconut foot cream: Smells great, doesn't do a thing for my feet.
It just never penetrates the rough spots and tough skin. Much better, Burt's
Bees carrot cream.

OoO Daily Facials: I was surprised at how much I liked these. They take off my
makeup without being harsh, although they don't take off my mascara as
advertised. These will be very convenient for traveling. And I'm left with a
transparent tub which I'm betting will be great for organizing makeup.

CD Lotion Douceur (softening toner): It came in a pretty pink color and I fell
for it. No harm, no special benefit. Will not repurchase.

-This is true, I had a big change this year; 2000 will go down as the
Year I Gave up Vichy. I had used the complete cleanser for about 10
years; hoarding it in Canada and the UK, hauling it home until my arms
hurt from dragging suitcases full of it, mailing packages to myself from
England, doing anything to get enough to last until my next trip. It
always left my skin clear and clean, yet was gentle.

Then this year, I tried Caudalie eye cream and creamy cleanser and fell
in love with them. When I used up the first bottle of Caudalie and
decided to use up the last of my Vichy before getting more Caudalie, it
ended up clogging my pores and breaking me out, something that had
never, ever happened in 9+ years. I threw out all my Vichy cleanser and
have been using Caudalie ever since.
